Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Read Simple Chrome extension and its backend service collect, use, and handle information when you use Google sign-in and request AI analysis.
Information We Collect
- Google account information that you choose to share during sign-in, such as your email address, profile name, and Google account identifier.
- Text content that you explicitly submit for analysis, including selected text or full-page content when you trigger AI analysis.
- Technical and operational data needed to keep the service working, including authentication session data, usage logs, and application logs.
How We Use Information
- To authenticate your account and keep you signed in to the extension and backend service.
- To process your AI analysis requests and return structured results.
- To operate, secure, monitor, and improve the service.
When Data Is Sent
- Page content is processed only after you explicitly trigger the extension, such as clicking AI analysis for selected text or full-page analysis.
- The extension does not sell your personal information and does not use remote executable code.
Data Sharing
- We do not sell personal information.
- Submitted text may be sent to the configured AI model provider strictly for generating the requested analysis result.
- Information may also be processed by infrastructure providers that host the backend service.
Storage and Retention
- Account information and service data may be stored in the backend database and server logs for account management, service continuity, troubleshooting, and security.
- Local extension storage may keep settings and local session state on your browser.
Your Choices
- You may stop using the extension at any time and sign out to clear the active local session.
